Meet the Teacher

Hello, and welcome to Prancing Deer Studio — a warm, bilingual piano space where students grow with joy and confidence.

My name is Misty. I’m a piano teacher with over 8 years of experience teaching in both the U.S. and China. I hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education and Music from the University of Washington.

I work with students of all ages — from young beginners to returning adult learners. Each lesson is personalized, encouraging, and paced to fit the student’s unique needs.

I also offer bilingual instruction in English and Mandarin, which has been especially helpful for Chinese-American families. Many parents tell me their children feel supported and look forward to each lesson.
